Don't be fooled by pre-bagged vermicompost that may sit for months, losing valuable nutrients.
Worm castings and vermicompost are more valuable than conventional compost in that the worms convert nitrogen and other elements into a form more usable by the plant. Also, the worm castings have a coating around the grains, which allows the nutrients to "time release" into the soil. Visit your local nursery and see what they charge for this VermiGold. Just remember - store bought vermicompost or vermicastings are not as fresh as Happy D Ranch's VermiGold.
If you want “worm tea” simply take a cup of castings and steep in a gallon of water overnight and use within 12 hrs to water plants. Strain tea before using in sprayer.
